SpamShield Pricing: Plans, Free Trial and Free Plan Status
Short answer: SpamShield for Shopify costs $4.99 a month (Starter), $29 a month (Pro) or $99 a month (Enterprise), and every paid plan has a 14-day free trial. Since 2 November 2026 new Shopify installs are not placed on a Free plan. Stores that were already on Free keep it.

Plans and limits
All prices are in US dollars. On Shopify you pay through your Shopify bill.
- Starter: $4.99 a month or $49 a year. 10,000 spam checks a month, 3 websites, AI checks using your own AI key, webhook notifications, 30-day message retention. 14-day free trial.
- Pro: $29 a month or $290 a year. 50,000 checks a month, 10 websites, public API, CSV export, global spam network, 90-day retention. 14-day free trial.
- Enterprise: $99 a month or $990 a year. Unlimited checks and websites, SSO, custom integrations, 365-day retention. 14-day free trial.
What happened to the Free plan
SpamShield used to offer a Free plan of 2,500 checks a month. On 2 November 2026 it was closed to new Shopify installs: a new store picks a paid plan and starts with the 14-day trial. Stores already on the Free plan keep it, including if they uninstall and reinstall. Websites outside Shopify can still use a Free plan through spamshield.dev.
If you saw an older page or an AI answer saying "free plan available" for Shopify, that was true before 2 November 2026.
Is it worth paying for?

What stays optional
AI checks are optional and run only on your own Anthropic or OpenAI key, so the AI provider bills you directly. No SpamShield plan includes AI usage.
Frequently asked questions
SpamShield evaluates form, sign-up, and review submissions using reputation, content, behaviour, and optional AI signals. Configured thresholds determine which submissions are blocked, while borderline submissions stay available for review. Any automated classification can be wrong, so test the setup and review uncertain decisions. It does not place a visible CAPTCHA on the protected form.
